Today, we are highlighting Matt Moore, our Sous Chef at Cannon Green in Charleston, SC. Matt comes from a family of 7 children and loved all things cars and motorcycles growing up. He quickly found his passion for food and cooking when he started working at Cannon Green.

When/where did your interest in the restaurant industry begin?
I began my journey in the restaurant industry when I moved to Charleston 5 years ago. After moving to Charleston, I experienced a different dynamic of food, which I found a passion for.
What is one of your favorite memories from your time working at Cannon Green?
One of my favorite and most memorable times at Cannon Green was when our former chef, Amalia Scatena, demonstrated and showed me how to make pasta.
What’s your favorite dish on the menu and what do you love about it?
Right now my favorite thing on the menu is the Butcher Board. Our butcher board consists of a rotating selection of house-cured meats as well as house-made accouterments.
When you’re not working, what are some of your favorite things to do around Charleston?
I love exploring new restaurants and their menus on my nights off. I also enjoy going to the beach and spending time with my family.
